Our CPD accredited fall restraint arrest lanyard training course will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to keep yourself and others safe when working at height using work positioning, fall restraint, and fall arrest lanyards.
Course duration: 6 hours.
This training course covers all aspects of work position, fall restraint, fall arrest lanyards. The course is a mix of theory with practical application from course delegates.
Careful consideration must be given to ensure that the safest solution is chosen when working at height.
There are 3 categories of work
1. Work Restraint
This category of work covers techniques that help to restrict the worker from falling over the edge.
2. Work Position
The lanyard used in this category is designed to suspend the worker in their work position. When using this type of lanyard, it is advised that you have a backup system in place.
3. Fall Arrest
This category is the only one that allows a fall to take place. The fall arrest reacts by arresting the fall in a controlled manner. The most important factor is to make sure that when using fall arrest that you have adequate clearance and there are no obstacles during a fall.

The training provide by Richard Appleyard covered all of the learning objectives. Apart from the theory I found that use of the personal fall protection equipment highlighted the importance of choosing the correct equipment type.
Considering that I have attended a similar course which only covered the theory, I realised that there are trainers out there who understand the core subject of fall arrest.
I personally learnt quite a lot on the operating procedures of fall arrest when using a fall arrest ladder for access onto a horizontal lifeline.
The training course met all of the learning objectives. The practical training was great, this course was better than a previous course that I had attended.
