Course Overview - Why Take This Course?
The purpose of this training course is to provide information and knowledge as per work at height regulations 2005.
The Height rescue training that we provide is designed for all employees and others who work at height and have a responsibility to provide rescue in the event of a fall at height below and above ground level.
Knowing that you will receive training at the highest standard from an instructor who has wo rked at height and has over 20 years of experience in the height sector..
Course Aims & Objectives
Provide the knowledge required to meet the requirements of working at height regulations 2005.
Provide information on a safe system of rescue using various types of kit.
Course Content
- Course introduction – previous experience and knowledge.
- Planning for rescue (proactive) + how to create a rescue plan.
- HSE guidance and the laws relevant to working at height and rescue.
- Rescue at height, safe systems of work (method statement).
- Collective and individual requirements for rescue at height.
- Hazard and risk analysis (you must identify the risk when performing a live rescue).
- What procedure you must follow in the event of a fall from height.
- Harness and rescue equipment type bespoke to your working practice.
- Introduction of height safety rescue and edge protection equipment.
- Live demonstration of rescue kit at height using a rescue dummy.
- Live practical with course candidate participation.
- Training assessment of learners with group discussion.
Training Requirements
All delegates must have previous experience off working at height including the use of a harness.
The training courses listed below are highly recommended that the delegate has completed and has also been awarded the correct certification in accordance with the law.
Harness training with practical application.
If you do not have the above certification for the courses listed above then we can incorporate the additional training into the rescue and evacuation training course.
Certification
This course is accredited through Apple Group Training CPD (Continuous Professional Development). Candidates successfully completing this training course will receive a certificate which may be used as evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) within your industry.
Course Location
Apple Group Training locations are based around the UK.

How to plan and execute a live rescue.
I will be able to help others who require rescue at height of an automated crane system that is used on industrial racking.
I was slightly apprehensive as I have never performed a live rescue before, but the trainer explained everything in detail and he was very concise on the practical element on the training. I do agree that we should have a practice session at least every 3 months on the use of the Gotcha kit that we purchased inhouse.
