This training course will equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to correctly access a fixed ladder onto a working platform using personal fall protection equipment that allows the user to access safely in accordance with the work at height regulations.
Duration: Full day.
Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, every person using a fixed ladder has a duty of care to both themselves and others to know and understand the practical implications of working safely at height.
This fixed ladder training course has been developed to train those with the responsibility of inspection, access, egress, and maintenance of a fixed ladder.
Industries that we train for this course vary from general maintenance to offshore, wind-turbine, and anyone else who uses a fixed ladder as a means of access, work position and egress.
This course will train delegates to climb a fixed (hooped ladder) safely maintaining 3 points of contact always using if required a fall arrest system that has been developed for fixed ladder access.
Companies will benefit from knowing that your employees will have received training off the highest standard and that as long as they follow the procedures as demonstrated on this course, they will be competent to work at height on a fixed ladder.
Delegates will gain an understanding of current legislation in accordance with the law.
Be able to carry out a pre-use inspection, and, most importantly, use the fixed ladder in accordance with current approved safety methods and manufacturer’s instructions.
Learn how to use personal fall protection equipment which will reduce the risk of falling at height when accessing a fixed ladder in the workplace.
This Fixed Ladder Training Course is accredited through CPD (Continuous Professional Development) under the banner of Apple Group Training.
Delegates successfully completing this training course will receive a certificate that can be used as evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) within your industry.
